This is because people doing medical transcription jobs at home are paid on line-count basis, and the salaried person gets a fixed salary irrespective of the volume of work he/she is doing. So, if an at-home medical transcriptionist does more line count, he gets paid more but the same may not happen with the salaried medical transcriptionist.
